Collection guide
Choose a system,
not just a sound.
Field note / IXPlace names usually begin as practical descriptions, personal names, claims, or borrowed words; centuries then wear down their pronunciation. Match the name to who coined it, what language they spoke, and how long people have used it. A tiny village and an empire should not automatically follow the same naming pattern.
Start with the generator closest to the character or place you are building. Save a small shortlist, then compare it with the rest of your cast. Distinct initials and rhythms reduce confusion, while shared elements can establish family, region, rank, or ancestry.
The instant tools run in the browser and can be used without an account. The optional AI mode is separate, clearly labeled, cached to conserve compute, and never required to access the main generator.
